 Introduction to Computer Network

*New Relax Corner*

~JOKE~

A doctor and a lawyer were talking at a party.

Their conversation was constantly interrupted by people describing their ailments and asking the doctor for free medical advice.

After an hour of this, the exasperated doctor asked the lawyer, "What do you do to stop people from asking you for legal advice when you're out of the office?"

"I give it to them," replied the lawyer, "and then I send them a bill."

The doctor was shocked, but agreed to give it a try.

The next day, still feeling slightly guilty, the doctor prepared the bills.

When he went to place them in his mailbox, he found a bill from the lawyer.

…HAhahaha….

~LAUGH~

*My Word*

It was the last lesson before mid-sem break.

~There is never enough time, unless you're serving it.~

No doubt, I learnt new knowledge about network. I believe that it will help us in our future as it broadens our mind about network. It benefits us. Hopefully, I can absorb as much knowledge as possible.

~Time is the coin of your life.
It is the only coin you have,
and only you can determine how it will be spent.~

Now, I would like to share the lesson I had learnt in my class:

  1.     Topology species the geometric arrangement of the network.

  2.     A protocol is a set of rules that governs the communications between computers on a network.

  3.     Architecture refers to one of the two major types of network architecture: Peer-to-peer or client/server.

  4.     Topology: Bus network, star network, ring network and hybrid network.

  5.     Protocol:
-The Ethernet protocol is a common logical bus topology protocol
-LocalTalk is a common logical bus or star topology protocol
-Token ring is a common logical ring topology protocol
The Ethernet protocol allows for linear bus, star, or tree topologies. Data can betransmitted over wireless access points, twisted pair, coaxial, or fiber optic cable.

  6.     Architecture
